Dokploy and Certificates

One struggle that I had with Dokploy was getting “This page is insecure” errors when using HTTPS for my various service subdomains. Whilst the set up of subdomains had worked for some services, it had not worked for more recent ones. This was annoying but liveable and so I didn’t explore it too much.

At some point though, I was taking a look at the Traefik reporting and noticed that there were errors occuring when trying to get a certificate from Let’s Encrypt. The reason turned out to be that I had not opened port 80 on my server (or rather had closed it down at some point)

Opening port 80 up again, fixed this instantly. Just bear in mind that after creating a domain for a service, it takes about 10 seconds for the certificate to be created.
